The School of Divinity of the University of St Andrews is one of the internationally leading centres of research and study in Biblical Studies.
St Mary’s College has been the home of Divinity here since 1538. Surrounded by the beauty of the medieval town of St Andrews on the edge of the North Sea, the College is both central to the history of theology in Scotland, and ‘a place apart’ where scholars, senior and junior, come together from all over the world to reflect on and carry forward the tradition of the study of the Bible. The quality of our research and teaching have once again, in 2016/17, led to top spots in the Guardian, Times, National Student Survey UK league tables. Recently, the QS World University Rankings placed us as the 18th best department in the world for Theology and Religious Studies.
